OFFERINGS

Trans 101 - This introductory lecture will define relevant terminology, describe the importance of personal pronouns, and provide advice on how to ask questions, how to make mistakes and how to correct others who make mistakes. It will outline how cisnormativity and transphobia impact trans people within particular contexts relevant to your organization (health, education, law, research, etc).

Creating Trans-Inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health Services - Whether you are an OBGYN or a full-spectrum doula, whether you work in a freestanding sexual health clinic or a local hospital, this offering is focused on gender affirmation in sexual and reproductive health spaces. Based on your needs, this offering can be entirely lecture-based or can combine a lecture and an interactive workshop utilizing fictionalized case-based learning - either way, focus will be paid to identify barriers that trans people face in accessing competent sexual and reproductive health care, and strategizing solutions to mitigate those barriers.

Trans-Inclusion for the Single-Gender Space - This offering is specifically for folks who work in single-gender spaces, who are aiming to ensure that their services are welcoming and inclusive to trans people. Single-gender spaces present challenges for trans people, that many are unsure how to overcome - if you are wondering how to improve service for trans women in your women-only space, service for trans men in your men-only space, or are looking to move away from a single-gender model of service or care in order to open your space up for people regardless of gender, I am available to guide you through this process with compassion.

Addressing Cisnormativity in Research - Historically and today, intersex, trans, nonbinary and Two-Spirit people have been systematically excluded from research, due to pervasive cisnormativity. Whether you are a student and researcher-in-training, a Principal Investigator leading numerous research projects, or an administrator at a research institution, it is important to learn how best to include intersex, trans, nonbinary and Two-Spirit people into your research. This lecture-based training includes discussion of recruitment strategies, how to create inclusive survey tools, and answers frequently asked questions about measurement, reporting and analysis. This training can be tailored to suit your needs. I am also available to troubleshoot any research-related questions you may have, no matter how small.

Gender-Inclusivity Audit and Policy Development - Whether you own a small yoga studio, or are the administrator of a school, I am available to audit your organization and assist in the development of policies that will ensure your service and space are welcoming and inclusive to trans people. Often, folks are invested in equity and inclusion, but don’t know where to start - I will look over your website, review your policies and practices, consider the physical spaces that make up your organization, and offer practical, concrete suggestions on areas of improvement.

Have an idea or need not listed here? Have questions about the cost of a one-time lecture or workshop? Interested in retaining me to audit your organization? Want to interview me for your podcast? Need help troubleshooting a challenge you aren’t sure how to overcome?
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

*Note: Offerings can be delivered in-person or virtually.
